It’s Friday already?
I can’t believe how fast this week went by! I’ve been busy dyeing Booty Club yarn. Last night Mr. K informed me that there was no more room in my yarn drying room. That’s never happened before. We’ll have to figure something out cause I still have a lot to dye. I am reluctant to share the number of club members we have. I’ve told a few people and they have expressed some concern that I might be insane. Maybe I am. It’s really not that hard though. Doing a club where everyone gets the same thing is much easier than individual orders of a zillion different colorways.
How about giving $5 for a good cause and the chance to win some cool stuff? Aimee is holding a raffle to help raise money for The Lupus Foundation. Her goal is $5000. Look what you could win:
I’m sending a book, a pair of Yarn Pirate needles, a skein of my handspun, and a skein of “Rain”, which won’t be available again as a colorway until next spring. Seriously, I’m putting these in the mail today. The raffle is up until October 5th. She has lots of other goodies to give away too. For every $5 you donate your name gets entered in the drawing.
This week’s Booty Club projects were knit by Lou. Lou doesn’t have a blog (that I know of). She works with my FIL and is very good about keeping him updated on what’s happening on my blog ;). She made mittens with “Rum Runner” and some very cute socks with “Calamity”. She didn’t tell me what patterns she used. Maybe she’ll be kind enough to leave a comment with the info. Lou, when you read this tell D that his grandson is doing just fine today (as far as I can tell).
I’m excited the weekend is here and it’s almost October. October is my favorite month. I love living in the Pacific Northwest this time of year. The days are sunny and cold and the trees are starting to change colors. I might get a head start on my 31 pairs of baby socks this weekend. That’s not cheating, is it?

I l-o-v-e those mittens. Great job Lou! I am still working on sock #1 of my Rum Runner socks. I am obediently knitting my booty club skeins in the order received (although they did skip ahead of quite a bit of other stash).

Friday did kind of sneak up this week didn’t it?
I have many thoughts in my head for what I’m going to do with Calamity, the Rum Runner Monkey’s are almost done.
Oh, and thank you for being a little bit crazy. Because even though it take my club shipment 2 weeks to get here, it’s SO worth the wait.

I think starting on the baby booties a day or two early does not count against you. I mean, babies need booties and knitters need something to knit

When will you have a new sign up for the Booty Club? I am hoping to get my hands on some of your yarn! Wish I lived closer, I’d love to help you out dyeing…in between feedings of course!

Lou, love the gloves!!
Like everyone else, I thank you for being a little crazy. Although I’m a “charter subscriber” to the Booty Club, I love that others have the opportunity to get the yarn, too.
October is special for me too. With two of my three kids celebrating birthdays, it’s also an expensive month!

I’m another one who’s so thankful that you are a little bit insane! Those mittens look great. Love seeing what other people come up with, especially with Christmas around the corner (not to mention birthdays—it’s heavy birthday season in my family, too).
